20 Photos From the Good Old Days of 1978

1978, a year that has gone down in history as one of the more influential of its decade. Playing host to the releases of the Grease and Superman movies, as well as the TV show Dallas. Not to mention the meteoric rise of disco and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, which was a number 1 for months. And at the very same time you had massive strides in counter culture as The Ramones, Talking Heads and Blondie were changing the face of music from a small New York club called CBGBs.

And while all of that awesomeness was happening, a family and their friends went on a campaign trip to celebrate this auspicious moment in history, capturing their shenanigans on color film for us to revel in and remember the good old days almost 50 years later. So put your time travelling glasses on as we time jump to a balmy summer's evening in 1978.

Oh to look at this and think back to the time before we all became so self-conscious when taking photos. To think that once upon a time, photos caught the natural moment. Uninterrupted by poses and pouts, people just looked at the camera and that was that. A perfect representation of what life was actually like.

Do you think kids today are this happy? This free? It is sad to think that it might not be the case, even if only for the fact that kids today are more focused on winning the games they play rather than just playing. We really need to start sending kids to 80s themed summer camps, where the internet is merely a rumor.
